In India, since independence lot of development efforts have been devoted to bring about improvement in “quality of life”. Inspite of gigantic inputs, a very large proportion of population still faces hardships in meeting basic necessities. Divide among the rich and the poor as well as among rural and urban is widening. Little understanding of core issues, irrational thinking and decision-making process, pervasive illiteracy, obsolete customs, absence of responsive & responsible leadership is few major impediments, prevented synergy in development interventions.
